Why is this one of the most spectacular hikes in Norway?
Møysalen, with 1264 meters above sea level, is the king of king in the Lofoten region. Well, it is in Vesterålen, but that area is just as pretty as Lofoten. You will not find other mountain with that altitude, and the views are great. We did the hike over two days with a tent, but you could make it into a long day if you want to. Make sure there are not too many clouds, since you are going to want the views.
I made a video from our vacation in Lofoten. Feel free to check out the part that involves Møysalen from 30 seconds into the vidoe, and until 3 minutes in.

Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
