Going on holiday over the weekend so keen to get out before despite a dodgy morning forecast.

Misty and damp at first with very wet underfoot conditions but a decent round to take in a few hills I've not done a lot.

2 Arnison Crag and Birks.JPG
Arnison Crag and Birks seem to be fairing well with the low mist

I'd not been up Place Fell from this side before - it's the best route up for sure

The weather seems to be improving as I follow wet ground over to Beda Fell

12 On way to Rest Dodd.JPG
Heading for Rest Dodd - I don't go here or The Nab a lot. They always seem a lot of effort for very little reward with so many better fells all around

13 Rest Dodd.JPG
Misty again on Rest Dodd

14 The Nab ahead.JPG
The Nab ahead - there's a very slippy descent to deal with first and then a lot of bog to cross. The one benefit is you are likely to see (or hear) plenty of deer.

By following the wall you can cut off the top bit of Rest Dodd on the way back
