Walkhighlands

Another dry but rather cloudy day during our trip to the Narvik area. We picked a short outing on the island of Tjeldøya, which is nestled in between the mainland and the much larger island of Hinnøya. The terrain here is very rocky, with large expanses of granite slabs, and few trees at lowel levels. Siriskolten (658m) is a dome-shaped hill with a well-marked path that initially crosses a slabby area before climbing steadily across the hillside. At about the 400m level, the angle eases and the path makes its way across a slabby moonscape to reach the summit. This was just below the cloud level, but unfortunately the views were a bit limited.
