High Rigg, St John's -in-the-Vale

Having "ticked off" a couple of easy Wainwrights close to where I was camping in the morning, I decided that this would make a pleasant afternoon's walk, particularly as it was another Wainwright that I hadn't previously done.

It proved to be a short, easy and very pleasant little walk following an excellent path up from just beyond the church, where there is car parking for several cars. Definitely one for youngsters, and several were doing it with their parents on this particular afternoon, which after a misty start, had got out very nice indeed.

The church is not without interest and certainly worth a short visit. (The time taken included a look around both the church and the churchyard).
