Thanks for all that. Though if you wanted to win you would put me in another team . I’m pretty useless at quizzes.

Dear Jim,
I’m keen to attend this meet, but I have a few questions that would assist my decision to attend it not.
1. Are there any Vehicle Locksmiths in the local area?
I constantly worry about losing my car keys.

2. Are any local shops that sell “burner phones”?
I would hate to lose my iPhone up a hill.

3. Are these meets prone to severe weather wash-outs, that turn into three days of kidney abuse?

4. Do people turn up to these meets with weird games, with no rules anyone can understand or follow?

5. Do those, who regularly attend, cast up stories of other’s mishaps, in an attempt to ridicule their so calls walking friends.

If you could respond accordingly, I’ll consider if this is for me or not. :

Martin,
long time reader, 1st-ish time poster. 😉

Hi Martin. Thank you for your enquiry. I shall try to answer your questions as best I can.
1.locksmiths should be located in fort William if in the most unfortunate event that anyone was to lose there car keys which I must say would be very difficult. But worst case scenario would be. I have a bike.
2.yes there will be shops with phones just south in fort William. You can use the bike to get there. Great cycle on the great glen all good cycling.
3,for the weather. I have known in the past that a shower or two has disrupted a day or two with a wee breeze of wind which was very unfortunate. But I shall be taking control of the weather this weekend but I don’t have the final say on this as the weather gods sometimes decide to over ride my decision to have a beautiful weathered weekend.
In such circumstances yes your kidneys may take a little bit of a hammering.
4,yes games do turn up mainly from people who have been to many meets the people who have played these games in previous meets understand that rules of the games do change and the end result always means that you will not win but I must say for all new comers to the meet do not get frustrated as it’s the taking part that counts.
5.there are many very experienced hill walkers in the group who may tell a story or two about previous unfortunate circumstances that may have occurred to an individual or two but not to ridicule them but mainly to give the newcomers to gain valuable experience on how not to fall into the most unfortunate events of previous walkers misfortunes.
6.I hope this covers all your questions and hope to see you coming along.
Any other concerns please get in touch. We are all very welcoming to new people coming along. Thankyou.

Cheers Jim,
Your detailed and clear answers were most reassuring.
I feel confident that I will be in safe hands, so will be attending.
Just to add, should anyone suffer a rare eagle attack (or slip and split their noggin open), I’m a dab hand at head bandages. 🤣
