WH Summer Meet Skye 16-18 August 2013

The Summer Meet has been booked already!

After a short flurry of voting the clear favourite was Skye, with some suggestions for dates too... so we've booked all 20 beds in Sligachan Bunkhouse (click here for website) for the 2 nights of Friday 16th and Saturday 17th August 2013.

There is a hotel and campsite nearby too. As this thread develops there may well be opportunities for anyone less experienced/confident to join in with others or maybe club together to hire a guide. The WH meets are all about sharing experiences and having fun so it's not always about Munros there are sure to be many other walks being arranged too.

The cost of the bunkhouse is £15 pppn, bringing your own bedding. If you require linen though this can be paid directly to the hotel on arrival (extra £4pppn). This cost is based on filling all 20 beds. We've covered the deposit in the meantime to secure the booking but full payment is due 2 months before arrival. So, if taking a place please pay by 9th June - pm for bank details or address for sending a cheque. Reply here to book your place in the meantime

Hi Guys, I'm a newbie to the meets but keen to come along fo this one. Can I join in and for the bunkhouse option? Skye midges are murderous for camping! Cheers Steve

My first WH meet . And on Skye too

I'll be pitting my wits against those Skye midges at a nearby campsite.

Now to get myself into peak WH meeting fitness.....ale, larger, whisky......that should do for starters if previous meets are anything to go by!
