This board is for meeting up, whether it means arranging group walking trips, or just looking for a partner for your next walk or sharing a lift. There is also a club directory.
Warning Feel free to use this board to arrange to meet up with other walkers, either individually or for a particular walk, or for a larger get together over a weekend. The usual precautions are advised when arranging to meet individuals you have not previously met.

Please note that meetups are NOT arranged by Walkhighlands and everyone who arranges to meet for a walk using this board is responsible for their own safety. Please ensure you do not attempt a walk beyond your own abilities.

Rather than have forums or threads for meets from each club that don't really get used, it seems more sensible and less random to have a sticky club directory to help you find a suitable club for your area and activity.

To see your club link listed here, simply get your club's webmaster to add a link to Walkhighlands from your club's website and then contact us using a private message or the contact form and we'll include you. It's not much bother and these things help us to keep providing Walkhighlands for free. We will only list established walking or mountaineering clubs

Glasgow area
Scottish Hillwalkers and Activities Group
This group was founded to be run by the members for the members and we'll be doing a variety of walking - from single Munros, to multiple Munros, scrambling over ridges, weekends away and a selection of low level longer walks, pub walks and summer evening walks.
Junior Mountaineering Club of Scotland - Glasgow section*
The historic name belies the fact we have members from 18-85 involved in all aspects of mountain activity - hillwalking, rock and winter climbing, skiing, mountain biking and kayaking. Active weekend meet calendar across the country, access to club huts and regular indoor/outdoor climbing evenings.
Cairn Ban Mountaineering Club - SW Glasgow & Central Belt*
We are based in Kilbarchan (south-west of Glasgow), but our members live much dispersed throughout the central belt of Scotland and far beyond.The mainstay of of activities is a fortnightly Sunday outing during the winter, but we have various other events well. We are affiliated to the MCofS.

45 Degrees Mountaineering Club - We are at present a fairly small club of with a membership in the mid 20s – with ages ranging from teenagers on the one hand to those who no longer have to pay for their bus journeys on the other. Geographically our Scottish members reside as far afield as rural Aberdeenshire in the North, to Bo’ness south of the Forth and Glasgow in the west. We also have a small handful members based in the North West of England who manage a few monthly meets each year.
Norwest Sgurrambles - for those living anywhere in the UK who want to climb the rocky peaks of the Highlands.
Midweek Mountaineering Club* - ideal for those who are free to head to the hills midweek.
Easy Walking Group - walks in the Scottish Highlands
