WH 2014 AUTUMN MEET Tyndrum 7/8/9th November

Not long home & showered, what a fantastic weekend

Huge thanks to Barrie & Colleen for organising the event   Colleen you need to start revising your general knowledge for the next meet   Don't remember talking too much last night, but my voice was away by the end of the evening :(

Weather forecast couldn't have been more wrong, to think there was an "Amber" warning of rain for Saturday & there wasn't a drop during the daylight hours
Today's temperature in the Tyndrum area was unbelieveable, it was that hot that Evie was down to a base layer & that doesn't even happen in summer

The spring meet details will be 'on air' soon, arrangements are sorted & the fine details are already in draft, waiting to go live

Echo Martin's sentiments. Bravo Barrie and Colleen. Thoroughly good meet with far less hungover heads than usual.

Today's weather was indeed rather toasty. Sweating buckets on Meall Odhar this morning (and it didn't smell of even a hint of whisky!).

Hats off to Barrie and Colleen.......the venue was great and that's the first time I've ever had money back from a meet!!!

Great seeing everyone again, the laughs just keep on getting better and better..............plus I even managed a hill this time!!

Now it's back to checking the forum every 5 minutes to see when the details for the next meet get posted!!

IMPORTANT.......I was one of the last people in the bunkhouse today and found a yellowstone headtorch lying about, not wanting it to go walkabout I picked it up so if it's yours give me PM and we can arrange getting it back to you

Cheers

Elaine and I had a great time at our first WH meet -thanks everyone for being so friendly and welcoming. We even managed to answer a few questions at the quiz. We also got a few wrong......so actually maybe we made a net contribution!! Special thanks to Barrie and Colleen for organising! We did Beinn Dorain today and just couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather. If the next meet is in Durness and anyone needs a lift from Inverness, give me a shout.

Yep, cheers for organising the great weather despite the best efforts of MWIS and the Met Office to make it otherwise :D . Great weekend 8)

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. It looks like you all enjoyed the weekend as much as we did :D It was nice to see everyone together again and also to welcome some "newbies" into the ever expanding Walkhighlands family. One you've been to your first Meet you can't wait for the next one.
We hand the baton over now to Fife Flyer (Martin) who will treat us to another fine weekend in April in a glorious location

P.S Can' t believe how lucky we were with the weather. It looks like all those trips we made to the churches around Scotland has paid off  We were at the Remembrance Sunday service in Spean Bridge yesterday and i can safely say we've found THE one....
See you all again soon

Thanks to Barrie and Colleen for all the organising - great location and even better weather.

Thanks also to the gals who dipped in their pockets to donate to Mountain Rescue in return for some gear - was able to donate £50 - cheers!
