KILLIN AREA 10th - 14th July

KILLIN AREA 10th - 14th July

Postby ea51ron » Wed May 24, 2017 1:20 pm

Hi
I’m staying at The Capercaille in Killin from Monday 10th July to Friday 14th July.
My plan is to arrive in time to climb STUCHD AN LOCHAIN on Monday afternoon.
Tuesday 11th is the INVERVAR 4 - CARN GORM, MEALL GARBH, CARN MARIG & CREAG MHOR.
Wednesday 12th is an easy day up SCHIEHALLION.
Thursday 13th climbing CREAG MHOR & BEINN HEASGARNICH from Kenknock.
Friday 14th Early morning start to climb MEALL BUIDHE before travelling home to Sheffield.

Ruby my Patterdale Terrorist and I would love some company. I intend to end each day in a pub for a couple of pints and I hate drinking alone!!
If you’re up for any of the days then we’d be really happy to see you.

Hi Ron,

There's a possibility I might be able to join you on the Thursday - I have completed the other Munros that you mentioned. It all depends if my dog minder is free to look after one of my dogs ( I have a Border Terrier and a Border Terrier x Poodle) as it will be easier with just the one. That's assuming that your Patterdale enjoys having another dog for company too?

I prefer to camp, but the midges love me so I will ponder different options.

How does that sound?

Cheers,

Debbie

It would be great to meet you and your dog on the Thursday Debbie. I have 3 terriers but only bring one with me when walking the hills.

I have not walked the hills for 4 days in a row before and my legs may need some encouragement to do 15 miles on day 4.
On that point I have been looking at a shorter alternative walk to Ben Lui and Beinn a'Chleibh. Have you climbed them?

Cheers

Hi Ron,

Yes, I have completed those two you mentioned. You can see the Munros that I have completed by clicking on my Munros on my profile, so if you see any others that you would prefer to do let me know. Assuming I can sort my other dog out I should be flexible on days for that week, and may travel up on the Sunday or Monday.

Cheers,

Debbie

Hi did you go to CREAG MHOR & BEINN HEASGARNICH today.
2 i haven't been to yet; how boggy is it just now. It's either these 2 or another area I have in mind.

No Coop - didn't get there today. My legs were not up to the 15ish miles.

Hopefully you got a couple of dry days and walks this week. All the best wherever you go tomorrow.
Think I'll leave these 2 on Sat and head up to Glen Shiel instead.
