LONG walk in - very pretty tho!
I made an attempt on this a few weeks ago, but turned back due to snow conditions only about 1000m up the hill past the stable bridge (no actual stable!)- twas outrageous lower down the hill, and the top was *deep* in the white stuff.

Was up Creag Meagaidh at New Year - danced on the top lochan before going up the snow bank to the window... it was frozen absolutely solid - at least 8 inches deep. Peaple were partying on the ice.

Chris Townsend was up Bynack More this week - see his blog http://christownsendoutdoors.blogspot.com/ - for a bit more feedback on the snow conditions. It's a good hill and not one of the trickier ones in winter usually

Thanks Paul.
I see the Cairngorms ski area is shut due to high winds.
I'll try A Bhuidheaneach Beag tomorrow before the 'Meagaidh 3' on Tuesday and see how Bynack More pans out on Wed.

Isn't the best of weather though.... :(

I didn't find Bynack More a long walk in for that area - I think most of the Cairngorm walks are pretty long really. It isn't one of the longest ones. It was a very good track anyway and I would think it would make a nice winter walk in most conditions.
