Hiking Scotland 20 September - 6 November

Postby greg0922 » Sun Jun 02, 2019 2:59 pm

Hello all,

I'm traveling to Scotland from 20/09/19 to 06/11/19 and am looking for advice/travel buddies. I am 23 years old and in good shape. Looking for something challenging but reasonable. I have plenty of experience hiking but don't know much about the trails in Scotland. Where are some good places to go given the time I have?

Thanks,
Greg

Good time of year, the biting insects will be dying off and the leaves turning all the autumn colours. The stags will also be in the Rut, the big mating/fighting time of the red deer calendar, so be careful of them. The West Highland Way will be good, with fresh autumn air and fewer people around than in high summer. Glen Coe and the Isle of Skye are well worth a visit too.

Hey Greg,

wanna join me for Ben Nevis in Fort William on 30.09.2019? From there, you can start multiple multi-day treks the next day. ;)
