PM Failure

Hi Paul,

I've been unable to send PMs since about February (but have only just discovered this). The PM disappears from my out box, but the person I'm sending it to does not receive it, and the PM does not appear in the sent box.

Do you have any idea what the issue might be?

That sounds strange, certainly private messages are still being sent by others of us without a problem. The only thing I can think of is that only members who have had at least one forum post approved can access private messages - this has been the case for about 3 or 4 years since we had people registering and then spamming users by private message.

Is there a possibility you are trying to message someone who has never made any post or report on the forum?

Since Feb I've tried to PM 2 people, in one case 4 times. This latter person and I have had PM communications in the past (indeed my last PM exchange was with him in February). He has been posting on WH for at least 8 years...

As a final test, I will try to PM you in the next few minutes....

Have you contacted this person outside of Walkhighlands to know for sure the pm didn't go? Thousands of PM's are sent all the time with no problems.

Yes, I did contact the person, and he successfully PMed me, and I was also able to reply successfully by PM.

I'm going to have one more attempt to PM him directly (ie not as a reply to his PM).
