Missing “My Munros” map
Missing “My Munros” map
by Colin1951 » Fri Nov 19, 2021 6:13 pm
Couple of days ago I started getting a blank pale blue square instead of the wee map with red & blue balloons on it. Have I done something inadvertently to cause this? Or are the internet goblins just winding me up.😄

Have you still got the balloons, they just look like they're floating in a blue sea? That's happened before...

No balloons, just a big pale blue sea….
Edit - the + and - buttons do not appear to be active and in the bottom RH corner is a very small tab called “Leaflet” which takes you through to the front page of some kind of Java script device. Way beyond my IT pay grade.

Try a different browser, clear your cache, or email editor@walkhighlands.co.uk

As if by magic, it’s back. One of online life’s wee mysteries! Thanks to nigheanddon for the suggestion even though I don’t know what a cache is!

I have the same problem - only on the iPad, not the iPhone or LapTop

This is usually a corrupt file in your browsers cache. Try clearing the cache, or doing a hard refresh on the page (Control+f5 on Chrome, for example)

I now seem to have this same issue, on my iPhone on my Munro bagging map all I have is a light blue screen, but on my iPad my Munro bagging map is there, any help would be great.
Thanks GLW.

Sorry Willie, sounds like quite a few people having this problem with iphones.
From what others have said in another thread, there is apparently no way to do a hard refresh of one webpage on iphone safari, so the only way to get rid of this immediately is to 'Clear history' - which will log you out of everything as well.
Alternatively, the files are set to cache for a month at a time, so it would go away on its own a month after it happened.
There haven't been any changes to the code behind this in years, when you clear the cache you'll get exactly the same code again, so not quite sure why this has happened on alot of iphones at once.
