Thanks guys tried that and it worked a treat, now can you tell me how to pick out part of a message and quote only that part ? I'll try and not be a nuisance for a while :silent:

fitsat,

The easiest way to do that is to hit the Quote button so that it copied the quoted text into the windo you are typing your message in and then just delete the bits of the text that you don't want.

Hi clankie here, just joined today as I'm off to Angus tomorrow for 3 weeks holiday. I must be very dim but I can't see how to use the message system. I'm always a bit careful pushing buttons etc., I just wanted to introduce myself. Maybe I should ask a child, all same DVD recorder!!! I'm great with a Garmin GPS, on my 2nd now, but can't see through the message system. I think I sent a message to no one this morning, I saw something about private message. Oops I also spelt Mayar wrong in my CV!!! Used an "e" by mistake, and I have been up there from both sides, Prosen and Glendoll. A bit early this morning I guess.

I think you have a great site, I am looking at present.

Cheers

Hello Clankie,

You may want to post a hello post in this forum:
http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewforum.php?f=13

:)

The PM's - this should help.

Hi Clankie

Private messages (pm's) are really for if you just wanted to send a message to a particular person without it being on the forum. Usually you'd just post on a forum - and you've worked out how to do that as you've done it here :D

Good luck

I want to add waypoints before the start of a walk. eg to go up Lochnagar from the Lochnagar Distillery.
However when I add a waypoint at the Distillery a line is drawn to near the top of Lochnagar linking it to a waypoint there.
I don't want this but to add more waypoints eventually linking up with the path from Loch Muick.
How do I get rid of that first link?

Geoff

Sounds like it will be a completely different route from the Distillery so best to start drawing the route from scratch? However, generally you would drag the first waypoint from where it is now to where you want to start, and then you can drag the squares between points to create more points as you go along. You can also delete points from the list on the left - the current waypoint lights up on the map when you hover over its delete button.

Click on 'Update hills'. You've done a couple already so it's just more of the same :D

Just make sure you are signed in (as you were when you posted here).

Then go to any of the route maps - or the GPS planner - and simply zoom in and you'll get 1:25k mapping.

Hi Jon

I guess you are trying to press reply to the post giving details about say hello. You can't do that - that post is just an announcement.

What you have to do is go to the 'Say hello' board and then press 'new post' to start your own thread.
