Previous username

I have recently started using the site again after a gap of a few years. I have re-registered as, although I can remember my previous username it was with an email that is no longer in use and I can't remember the password for the account. Is there any way I can connect my previous account with this new one?

I'm afraid not, the email address is the only way we can identify owners of an account, so if you forget your password and also no longer have access to your registered email address then it isn't possible to use the account.
