Map not behaving

Postby steadywalker » Thu Jun 13, 2019 9:12 pm

Hi,

Using my samsung tablet I used to be able to drag the map with 2 fingers then zoom in till I got map detail. This is no longer working.
Is there a glitch or is it my tablet.

Thanks
Harry

Depends which map. The ones attached to walk descriptions move about like that, and are working fine for me, but the GPS planner can only be moved by the arrows in the corner.

Or if you can move the map but not zoom in to the OS layer, check that you're logged in, as you need to be to access it.

There are lots of different map types across Walkhighlands - the GPS planner (not touch controlled), route maps for our editorial routes (1:25k only if logged in), the maps that appear in walk reports (which can't be zoomed to 1:25k unless opened in GPS planner), the hill bagging maps, the map excerpts on the hill pages, and the interactive map that shows all the walks at once.

We haven't changed how any of them work recently. I don't know which you are asking about, but if you've seen a change it's probable you are looking at a different time of map now to the one you were looking at before.

After I log in I go to the Munroes section which shows which Munroes I have completed. I used to be able to pull the map around using 2 fingers then zooming in.
