Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone knows what the equivalent to the revered Silva Type 4 compass is now as it's not shown on their website?

I know it's still available at other retailers/sites but I would like the updated style/model ideally.

Thanks,

Pete

D'oh! Turns out I was on Silva's International site rather than their UK one, oops.

Still, I'd be interested in any alternatives to the Type 4 that people would recommend.

The key word now is Silva Expedition 4. That's the trad 4 model and is still widely available. The new "Expedition" is a different capsule and I guess might be the new standard.
Suunto's M3 is similar to the Type 4. They also do a "global" one where the needle is balanced to work all over the place. Suunto are just as good. Other brands less so!
