If I knew I was getting wet I might get an actual towel, but I usually have a j-cloth for, variously, wiping condensation / rain off the tent, drying cooking gear and, when necessary, drying my feet off after a river crossing. It also once tied knots into the corners and used it as a sun hat. Weighs nothing, soaks up plenty of water, wrings out easily and offers SPF50 UV protection.
