Waterproof trousers

Waterproof trousers

I am on the look out for a pair of waterproof trousers.
I am thinking of Berghaus Deluge or Paclite.
What is your thoughts on these or do you recommend another brand.
Cheers

I've been using the full zip version of Marmot Precip trousers for a few years now and find them pretty good. Not too expensive, pretty light, and pack down smallish, I've found they do the trick every time I've actually put them on (I'm usually of the "we'll see if the rain lasts long enough to bother" "oh, well, I'm wet now anyway" school of idiotic thought  ).

My wife's recently got a pair of the Berghaus Paclite and has been very happy with them.
Lightweight, comfortable and breathable.

Berghaus Deluge for me - not the lightest but not that heavy, not the most breathable but they do breathe, full length two way zips make them easy to put on / take off and the top zips can be zipped down for ventilation, robust - I'm on my second pair and have been happy with them.

I found the Deluge to be heavy and hot, Paclites are decent, my pair are now coming to the end of their life and will happily get another pair.

Not got any of these but am a great Alpkit fan. Their gear is generally well priced and does what it says it will do.
