Braces?

Braces?

Any ideas for lightweight braces for walking trousers/MTB trousers that aren't those aggressive metal ones?.

Ta!

Try charity shops, they always seem to have loads of new pairs of braces for some reason.

Paramo do braces. I've not tried them, although have been wondering about braces too.

The Paramo ones only seem to fit their own trousers, via a loop system.

How about looking at motorbike gear. They seam to do a lot of plastic braces?

Engineering agencies in Dunfermline
They usually have a selection of braces for holding up trousers wide elastic with decent metal grippers

I bought a pair of normal braces from a charity shop and wore them for the first time the other day and OMG what a delight it was not to have my rucksack strap push my trousers down like some sagging hip-hop fan.

A cheap fix that has transformed my walks.

Aye, agreed Hedley, I bought a pair of Oakley braces, direct from their site, plastic cam clamps, wore them last weekend going up over the big Buachaille in deep snow and proper winter conditions on the col from Glen Etive side, they worked brilliantly.

15 quid well spent!.

One thought you might want to try in the future. Cross country ski trousers come in a variety of weights but are designed for breathability at the back and wind stopping at the front.

A lot of these come with integrated braces and work great. I just thought they would suit winter walking fine. I have 2 or 3 paired and use them for winter walks

Otherwise Dakine and ME do braces
