Vacuum Flask

Vacuum Flask

Postby Lightfoot2017 » Mon Jan 10, 2022 6:52 pm

After many many years my trusty Thermos flask has finally given up the ghost.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a replacement brand or model?

I've seen bog standard efforts in the supermarkets for £8 or so ... but these only keep drinks hot for 6hrs :(

Any recommendations?

Grateful as ever for any advice

LF.

I use a Thermos Ultimate 500ml flask. Keeps water hot for maybe 20 hours, rugged enough to take knocks and blows in the rucksack. Around £23. I’ve had 2 in the last 10 years, did damage one when I had a bad fall but would recommend

I can also recommend Thermos Ultimate and have the 500ml and 900ml. I've just recently bought the 900ml direct from Thermos at £28 and free p&p. The 500ml is £24. I'm not on Thermos commission :D.

I have the thermos ultimate and it’s very good. The other one I looked at was the zojirushi but at the time I couldn’t find it in stock. The thermos is so good I am going to get the 500ml too

I swear by my trusty Thermos Thermocafe, £6 on sale in Asda when I got it I think. Still serving me faithfully after 10 years, despite many drops and knocks, keeping stuff too hot to drink beyond 12 hours.
For the expensive options I'd look at the Stanley classic ones, used to borrow my dad's green one and it was great. The Thermos Ultimate is another good option. I bought my other half one of these and it does a good shop of keeping liquids piping hot (though I don't feel it's significantly better than my Thermocafe despite the price difference).

I use Klean Kanteen TKPro and can recommend it to anyone. It's made of stainless steel, but it's main advantage is the preservation of the temperature — my tea can stay hot up to 2 days and no one thermos achieved such a result.
