Do you need a groundsheet with an enclosed tent?

Do you need a groundsheet with an enclosed tent?

For general wildcamping in Scotland. Also going to the outer hebs soon. Have an MSR Hubba Hubba that has worked so far without a separate groundsheet. Why do people use groundsheets then and are they needed here?

They are more used to protect the new fangled lightweight sewn in groundsheets.
Long term, your tent lasts longer and you may avoid the occasional snag or thorn puncture.

Bring back my old Macpac hoofing thick waxy groundsheet. Ain't nothin' getting past that.

Hubbahubba here too, I take one as its handy for changing boots etc, without dragging wet stuff into the tent, cooking on, as above protects the tent too, and it's like 180g.

It's not really needed, but a nice to have, like lots of camping kit.

I use it to protect the bottom of the tent and it extends into the vestibule.
I used to use a bivvy bag under my oldSaunders fellpine as it started wetting out after a few years use.
