Best Kit shop online?

Any suggestions of good, ie cheap! places to buy hillwalking kit online?

I must admit I'm of the school of amazon, where everything is way way less than it may cost in the shops, but so far I'm no finding anything as good as that for kit online.

They all are pretty much the same price as they are in the shops, and sorry but thats taking the proverbial. I know for a fact that the retailer will only be paying half the retail price for the kit (its always a 100% mark up on clothes, always has been, and probably always will be), so why can't any online retailers who don't have the overheads that physical retailers manage to get the price down a fair chunk?

My pet hate is those that advertise things they don't have in stock! I make a point of emailing them to ask if it's in stock ready to despatch.

We've been to Go in Coatbridge yesterday and to be honest it's not that cheap. The things that are actually on sale are mostly out of stock or not available in a size that fits. My other half was all exited about going there, but ended up buying only one pair of trousers. I bought a 'Buff'...what an ingenious invention . I find Millets very reasonalbly priced and they always have a sale on. As for online...I haven't found anything either that makes a huge price difference...

Yeah I found that while doing an online order last week. Such a pain to put an order through then they come back and tell you 5 things are not available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite trying to use them, they never seem to stock whatever I'm after! Is it just me or do they have a small(ish) selection of stock?
I do visit their shop in Inverness regularly though. Very helpful staff. Bought my climbing harness and shoes from them a while back. More recently that pair of tick removal tweezers I mentioned in my other post!

Dont know if anyone has tried WildDay at Nairn. Bought a couple of tents from them, and got a good deal.

Didn't know wild day was actually based in Nairn. I see the sign in the field by the industrial estate as you drive along the A96, usually advertising tent shows I think? Do they have a shop that you can visit in Nairn (in that industrial estate?) or are they purely online retailer?

The second tent I bought, was an online deal, but went through to the Industrail estate where they are based and picked it up from there. I dont think they have a shop to browse through but their tel.no is at the top of their homepage, maybe worth giving them a buzz.

I have to agree with both these suggestions, especially FaceWest. It is not just about price in my opinion. How good is the shop if something goes wrong? Facewest have a no issue returns policy and for every pound you spend you earn 10p towards other purchases. Great shop!
