Hello,
This is very much the way that the 62sc works....now that I have downloaded the Basecamp thing from the Garmin site. Set-up your route on the screen 1:50,000 map then, as you say, a few clicks and it transfers the route to the Device which has the cable connection to the P.C. Ready to use on a bad day out in the hills.
Problem was that when I wanted to do as I was used to doing with the older Garmin, 'the wee yellow nae pictures one' I had the 'carry on' with the pasting etc. with files from 'memorymap' onto the Device....I never ever became proficient with wallpapering
Maybe I mixed up the folks at Garmin when I asked about this......maybe they didn't realise that I had the 1:50,000 maps on the 'wee card' tucked under the batteries......it kind of took at bit of time to find out about the Basecamp programme though.....much longer than it should have since there was no information in the blurb supplied with the Device.
Maybe also I should have gone straight to the Garmin site instead of putting my reliance in the provided blurb stuff?
