Ah, I'm suspecting that your problem could be an out-of-date version of Memory Map.

Ok Gaffr,
As Paul mentioned it sounds like memory map license issue if you don't see an option to save as gpx.

Garmin seem to be an 'odd company'. Having contacted them regarding the comms. between device and P.C. no mention was made of the downloadable wee program from their site. They sent info to get stuff from memorymap to P.C. When you register your device after purchase they must have known that the device that I have has the card with all the 1:50,000 maps inside. The 'Basecamp' appears to be able to do most of what you would expect to do twixt device and P.C. There is not much included in the literature provided regarding the existence or use of this program. :? Or is it me? who missed some of the blurb.

Hi, I have a different and possibly more up to date Garmin (Vista hcx) but when I want to send a route from the pc to the GPS I don't have to save it or anything else, I just right click on the route and the pop-up has "send to GPS" as an option.

Hello,
This is very much the way that the 62sc works....now that I have downloaded the Basecamp thing from the Garmin site. Set-up your route on the screen 1:50,000 map then, as you say, a few clicks and it transfers the route to the Device which has the cable connection to the P.C. Ready to use on a bad day out in the hills.
Problem was that when I wanted to do as I was used to doing with the older Garmin, 'the wee yellow nae pictures one' I had the 'carry on' with the pasting etc. with files from 'memorymap' onto the Device....I never ever became proficient with wallpapering
Maybe I mixed up the folks at Garmin when I asked about this......maybe they didn't realise that I had the 1:50,000 maps on the 'wee card' tucked under the batteries......it kind of took at bit of time to find out about the Basecamp programme though.....much longer than it should have since there was no information in the blurb supplied with the Device. :)
Maybe also I should have gone straight to the Garmin site instead of putting my reliance in the provided blurb stuff?
