Hillsound trail crampons

Hillsound trail crampons

Anybody have any experience of using these that they would like to share?

I'm aware that the Kahtoola micro spikes get a pretty big thumbs up from many users on here, but I've seen a few reviews of the Hillsound Trail crampon on the web which suggested they give the Kahtoolas a pretty good run for their money.

I have micro spikes and they are great in some situations.

Never heard of these ones. Had a look, here's the link if anyone else wants to
http://hillsound.com/hillsound-product/trail-crampon/

They look very similar, almost identical, to micro spikes. The plate with the spikes looks slightly more solid/heavier duty. Maybe the spikes a 1-2mm bigger.

Would be hard to choose between them. Wonder if there's a big weight difference?
Edit: check the weight. Size large for both:
Micro spikes 408g
Hillsound 480g

Just to throw more into the mix there's the Pogu microspikes which look the same as the Hillsound ones.

I'm happy enough with the Kahtoola although the strap across the top might be a bonus.

Having tried them all, my preference is the Hillsounds.
They're robust and capable of tackling a variety of conditions while staying very stable on the foot.

and for more variation, I'm quite happy with these: https://www.yaktrax.com/Product/XTR

Admittedly I do use them with some old straps I had lying about.
