Has anyone used Apple Watch with GPS for climbing and walking?
Considering buying one but have heard mixed reviews.

My partner has one. The battery life is a bit pants for a full day in the hills (5hours in GPS mode) but it does the job for shorter walks. It won’t give you an OS GR unless it’s connected to a phone either so your phone needs to be on. I’d say it’s a better smart watch than activity tracker. I have a Garmin that will last 10hours on GPS mode but there are models will last longer.

My wife and I both use one in conjunction with iPhone running ViewRanger on Watch and phone, Very good, you get the OS map on the watch too and phone extends battery life as it’s GPS is used instead of watch and I have a Lifeproof battery case on my phone.

I have an iwatch and use Apps by the name of Altimeter and OS Locate.
Altimeter is on the watch face accessible in the bottom configurable location. Both of these are on the Phone but accessible via the watch as normal.
These are turned on and active only as needed so there is no issue with battery life.
I always use in conjunction with map and compass so provide additional information if / when needed.

Oh. I was hoping for something along the lines of the Midgie and Tick Watch, only for fruit.  :?
