Problem Montana 610

Problem Montana 610

Postby Alba001 » Thu Jun 21, 2018 6:39 pm

Hi,

I‘ve used a Garmin Dakota for years and never had any problems with your gpx files. Now I have a Garmin Montana 610 and when I try to use a gpx file I get an error because street navigation allows only 50 waypoints. Can anyone help? Do I have to use Tracks instead of Routes? But the gpx files that are copied on my Garmin show only up as routes...

Thank you!

Hi Alba,

Your Montana might be set to road navigation and it tries to go back and forth between the closest road and each waypoint. To change that press the arrow on the left-hand side of the home screen to open the menu, click on "Setup" and then "Routing", now click on "Activity" and change that to direct routing, go one step back in the menu and press "Lock on Road" and change that to "No". You can now close the menu and you should be good to go.

Cheers,

Stephan
