6'4 and 5'1...is there a tent out there for us?

You gave me such great tent advice last year and I ended up with a little Vango Blade 100 that I love to pieces.

I have since acquired a 6'4 boyfriend (at 5'1, it's important to have someone for those high shelves) and he'd probably appreciate something that he can fit more than his legs into.

Having our own tents is definitely an option, so if you have suggestions for a 2 person long enough for him I'd really appreciate it! Preferably though, we'll find a 3 or 4 person and can split the weight between us. Will be used for a distance walk (Great Glen Way! Oh yes, yes I am excited), canoe trips, and the occasional hike/camp on weekends.

Budget is a thing, nothing above 200 (though ideally a good chunk less). Very very happy to buy used.

i suspect this is not the answer you want but Caberfeidh could arrange to remove the lower half of your partner's legs???

I'm 6'4 too. We've got a wild country hoolie that's suits me fine. Ours is the etc version with loads of storage/seating room but the standard will be a bit lighter. These are often on offer at blacks and similar for under £200, we paid £150.

Hi Jazz,

It was me that suggested the Blade for your WHW trip.
Have you tried the Blade 200?
I'm 6ft and find there's loads of room.

Mine is on eBay at the moment... £90. Never used as I decided to throw money at a ultralight.

All I can say, is that tents are the least of your problems. My sister-in-law with a 6ft 5 partner has been hoping, at a now more advanced age, that they could trade in their festival tent (only ever carried in the car) for a caravan or a motorhome. Nothing is fitted out for people his size. Good luck, at least he could get a tarp and put his legs in a bin bag sticking out under the wall.  or could he?

My new 'tent' is an Autocruise Wentworth from 2001. The bed is 6'3" x 6'11" which might be big enough for your relatives.

I inherited a much loved Vaude Hogan from a friend who is 6ft 4. Have a gander at them second hand, worth every penny!
