Any recommendations please for a robust, light-weight, damp-proof digital camera for hill walking (possibly with a view finder!)?

Olympus TG5

Great pictures and bombproof. Can adjust settings by tapping it as well so can use it with thick gloves on.

I got a second hand SONY Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 off ebay after recommendations on here. Happy with it, does the job and it was cheap and pre-battered, so I'm not worried about dropping it on rocks.

I've got the previous version of this and can testify that it is a great camera if there is going to be rain, puddles, dust, clumsiness, cold, or a mixture of all of the above.

It has a great lens, with a wide aperture, but its a bit on the short side.

I've also got a Panasonic TZ70, which is not waterproof, dustproof, etc, its also a bit bigger in size (not much) than the TG5, but its got a viewfinder and a long lens (x30), which I find useful when travelling.

Yep, that's what i've been using in the last few months. I like the fact that the lens has a (glass) lens cover, it seems not to mist up as easily as the lumix i had before. Picture quality isn't bad, although I find the panorama setting disappointing c/f the Lumix or Sony Rx100. Probably the best of the current batch for changeable weather

Albeit not waterproof, but the Sony RX100 gets another vote from me.. I've got the MK3.

I have the Olympus TG 5 too and it is excellent. I can just fasten it to my waistband (so I don't lose it) and stuff it in my pocket and not worry about it. if I had to put my camera away all the time in case of a drop of rain I wouldn't bother

Me too. Good thing about the MK3 is it has a pop-up viewfinder, useful in bright light when you can't see the screen.
