etrek 10 backtrack

Hi All,
we are going around scotland in a few weeks, and wanted to simply be able to backtrack

so when we go for a walk - setup the E10 and then if we get lost or want to turn back , we can follow a track back
HOW do I do this please
a little confusing on the videos and instructions
Just want to be sure - trying out now

Not sure about the etrex 10 but with the extrex 20 .
- if its switched on it shows a faint line of your exact route which is easy to see and follow back.
Also, if your only doing a - "there and back the same way", and you've only plotted the route there it may have a function to " reverse route"
Hope that helps. Others may have other ways

If I have followed the various you tube clips correctly it goes something like this:

Save the track log. View it on the map. click for details/review and the trackback key should appear.

Just record a route and if you get stuck you can retrace your steps from the screen.

However you should be able use a map and compass. If you get lost take a note of your grid reference on the Extrex 10 and plot where you are on the paper map.
