I do carry some sort of paper map for remote areas but use garmin gps plus phone for most navigation. When in zero vis for a number of miles paper maps can’t fell you much depending on what type of rock you are walking on the compass can be inaccurate (like places on Skye). So I always have backup. My Hike &Bike app from NaviComputer is good all over the world.
