A bit of a hybrid route with a round trip back to Grantown with the early part of the Way out from the town then a wee diversion onto the moor via a very minor road. Back onto the Way at the old Dava station to then follow the Way on return to Grantown on Spey.
A few days later we re-joined the Way at Dava then followed the route down to Forres. Getting back as is usual with many of the linear routes after a refreshment and some food in Forres we each had a different solution to getting back to the vehicle. Marif set off to follow the A 940 to the vehicle and I, after leaving the town stuff, went back onto the Dava way to get back to Dava.
A few images to illustrate the Way.

Pleasantly on the trail with a slight downhill after the high point.

At the start of the route at Dava the road has to be used by those on the stride extenders ...the walkers can continue past the house beside the old rail-track.

Nice to be out among the fragrant moorland vegetation.

A useful wee building for a stop and well looked after by the volunteers who maintain the Dava Way.

Fine outlook from the Divie Viaduct.

The route now bypasses the old Dunphail station

The route now leaves the track to get onto the over bridge to continue.

A turn left prior to the house takes us through the woods on a rumbling path that opens out past fields and rolls past the Dallas Dhu Museum? that looks in good condition and with a large well organised parking area ....but without any visitors.

Easily into an area of the town with well manicured lawns and smart homes. Had to look around and eventually ask where to find a link path to the rest of the town. Then past a park with a pond and bonny wee waterfall, past a couple of schools to a roundabout, up a one way street into the a street with cafes.
Now after some refreshments all we had to do was find a way out of the town and return to our vehicle.
