Just back from completing the Kintyre Way last week. Three of my 5 days on the path were wrecked by Hurricane Katia, but I kept plodding on and maintained my planned schedule. The path is very remote and quiet (I never saw another walker all week, buy maybe nobody else was mad enough to go out in that weather......). It is very well waymarked, with a marker post always coming into view when required. Accommodation is very thin on the ground but there are good bus services to get you to and from places like Tarbert for accommodation each night. When the weather did clear, the views were amazing and, at one point, I could see Northern Ireland and Rathlin Island, Islay, Jura, Gigha, Kintyre itself, Arran, Ailsa Craig and Galloway - can't think where else you could do that.

The only downside was there was a little too much road walking, but Argyll and Bute Council are continulally striving to improve it and I am sure that will find ways to reduce the road content. despite that, I would certainly recommenend it, if only for the views and solitude.
