Hi,
I will be walking the Great Glen Way around the summer, does anyone have good campsites close to the trail
they would recommend? Will be starting at the Fort William, looking to complete this in 5 days.

When I did it I mostly wild camped. Did look at the campsite at Gairloch and turned around also the one on Loch Ness was terrible did not go there either. The one at Fort Augustus is nice but in the town away from the trail.

But whatever, I would be careful to miss the midge and cleg seasons of July and August (and possibly the end of June and start of September)!

Lochy holiday park is a good place to start. I've stayed there a couple of times and its a nice site beside the river Lochy with a good view of the Ben. Friendly staff too. Its about a mile from Neptunes staircase on the canal.
