Read other users walk reports for the long distance trails - and add your own.

NB. This board is for reports on multi-day long distance routes - reports on simply long walks should be added to the standard boards.
Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

Good stuff,, I did start using poles for all my walks after my injury,,whether I felt the need or not,,,have weaned myself off them now unless struggling with a steep downhill now. (ankle still gives me trouble with high heels but tend not to wear them on the hllls lol )

I've got poles for the descents, which help on my knackered knees (failure to listen to the doc again) and they do help on the flats if you're carrying a heavy pack, still not mastered how to use them on the ascents.

Thankfully, I don't need to worry about high heels
