Absolutely wonderful to read, love your sense of humour!

This one is definitely on the list to do when my boys are older - I reckon I've got ten years to train for it!

Hi there floma, thanks for posting a wonderful and amusing trip report. Had me laughing a few times! We have all done it, humped coal many many miles just to find the bothy has no fireplace  funny now but not so at the time :( Great credit to you and the family for undertaking such a route. I have not done a long distance trail as yet so a lot of the information is very useful, I'm still hoping to get something organised for this year, if not next. I've wild camped with the Grandson a few times now, and so far they have gone very well without any mishaps. Congratulations to you and the family and hope you come over to Scotland again for another trip of a lifetime, something no doubt you will remember for the rest of your life, I'm very glad the Scottish weather was kind to you :D .
PS and like you I cannot understand people who just leave rubbish around the bothies :(

Hi floma,
thanks for the wonderful report  . It brings back some fantastic memories of our trip to Cape Wrath. I am one of the german girls you met in Glencoul. We arrived at the Cape a day after you and spend a night at the lighthouse.
Maybe i post some pictures of our CWT- Experience later on. Greetings to the rest of the family :D ,
Anna from Germany

A wonderful read, even 5 years later!!!

Now I'm retired I've been toying with the idea of doing the CWT with my brother. But am a bit put off by the apparent extent of tracks and roads. I probably need to research it better to be sure, and I guess there must be alternatives to the tracks/roads.
