I've just completed the Cowal Way over 3 days, wild camping the entire way. This is my 12th Scottish long distance path and I wanted to highlight that the other paths could really benefit from the hard work that has been put into this path, into the up to date website with all the resources you might need, and especially the fantastic sign-posing on the path. This was the thing I really valued!!
So many paths have inconsistent and poor signposting, but this was brilliant, and much appreciated. There are countless places for wild-camping and sufficient places for picking up supplies on route, and overall, this is definitely one of my favourite paths thus far.
The scenery is fantastic, and very varied, the guidebook describes the rock scramble as the most challenging aspects of the way, but I found the ascent to the cairn on day 3 to be the most challenging! Especially with big heavey backpack, tent and supplies. Definitely recommended.
