Annandale way in a day

I started my walk at 3:30 in the morning in Moffat, useing the street lighting until the sun started to awaken.
A stunning morning walk around the Beef tub and source of the Annan river.
I chose the Lochmaben part of the route, I was glad to get away for the sound of the motorway, although 99% of the route is not on roads. The route is well layed out and takes you threw parts of the region that are not seen often by most folk, you discover some real gems along the way.
The signage is superb, clearly layed out very regularly, well done to those who maintain the route.
I finished in Newbie at 22:30. Very sore and tired but extremely happy with what I'd achieved.
If I were to give advice to anyone aiming to do the same route in a day would be to do it in June when you have a bit more light in the sky, unless you run parts. I had to make a slight adjustment to my walk and walk on the road between Lochmaben and just before Dalton so as to finish within evening light.

I highly highly recommend this walk in all its set stages or if you were to do it in two days perhaps stopping in Lochmaben for a night.
