The Wales Coast Path is 870 miles long. I'm planning to do it as a series of day trips, so it may be some time before I finish it. Anyway, here's the first section.
I started by getting a train to Chester, then walked through the city centre - stopping at Greggs for some breakfast - before joining the river Dee near the racecourse.

The Wales Coast Path begins at the city limits of Chester where you cross the border into Wales. For the first few miles it's more a river walk than a coast walk, with a long straight path along the top of a man made river bank.

At Connah's Quay the path goes inland and there's a not very exciting bit of road walking along the B5129 and then the A548

As you come into the town of Flint (or Fflint as it's spelt in Welsh) the path leaves the road, and you finally get to see something that looks like a coast - although even here there wasn't a lot of water around as it was low tide.

From Flint Dock -which presumably gets some water in it when the tide comes in- it's a short walk into the town, where I got a train back home. This walk took me about 5 1/2 hours.
