Read other users walk reports for the long distance trails - and add your own.

NB. This board is for reports on multi-day long distance routes - reports on simply long walks should be added to the standard boards.
Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

What is trekking like in New Zealand?

Well, New Zealand has got so many different treks that it would be hard to answer that question.
I have done several hikes on both the North and the South island of New Zealand, and I do recommend going there to explore the nature.

If you want to check out two long distance treks I did on the North Island of New Zealand then check the following link. I shot this video a few years ago so it does not cover the treks all that well, but it is something atleast. Ascent and distance is not exact, but an indication. If you have any questions about the treks then I will be happy to answer them
