First Cuckoo

First Cuckoo

First cuckoo here in North Argyll today. Three days earlier than last year, but in the general time slot for here (except a few years back when one forlorn soul arrived a couple of weeks earlier than usual).

Heard cuckoo on the west coast last week, also otters playing on Sunday am under the Connel bridge...

Cuckoo at Queens well today on way up Mt Keen and again on way down.....came across a gecko type creature just at the big iron gate on the way up....

Pleased to note there was no Tory MPs watching porn on the summit

In the last few days I've cuckoos calling on an off during the day but I was lucky enough to see on by Loch Garbhaig (the one north of Beinn an Eoin, not the one between Loch Maree and Lachan Fada) on Saturday. I think it brings my cuckoo sightings up to 4.

I heard a cuckoo up at the Rest and Be Thankful on Saturday 14th May. Whilst waiting at the traffic lights at the permanent landslide/rockfall area. They would have been cheaper, quicker and a lot easier just tunnelling through that hill. That's what they do in Norway; stops weather affecting the route too.
