The red squirrels appear to be doing very well in my corner of north Argyll. A few years ago it was rare to see one. Now I expect them almost every day.

I had a dream about red squirrels last night - I'd forgotten that until I saw your picture.

That one seems to think it's a flying squirrel!

It was certainly flying. Had been feeding at my bird feeder and was unconcerned about me pointing a camera at it. But when the dog came out the front door to join me it decided on flight. The dog, a whippet even, decided that it was altogether too fast to be worth chasing. Mind you, he is a very old whippet (16).
