I believe it is a Chanterelle, quite likely Cantharellus amathysteus

Is there a tree stump under there? Looks like angel's wings. We've seen several groups these last few days and while they are supposed to be edible (and good) we were put off after reading of someone in Japan who died after eating what seemed to be a related species.

Chanterelle are more golden and not on dead wood. And are delicious.

Amethyst chanterelles are white with a lilac/amethyst tinge, hence the name.
