Not a good picture, but Whooper Swans in the Pentlands. I always enjoy these visitors.

I love to see the whooper swans, Gavin Maxwell in Ring of Bright Water gave a beautiful description of them. There was a loch on the Isle of Skye where I often saw them, they used to over-winter there, then flew off North again in Spring.

Wonderful birds. Seen them in their hundreds on the Ouse Washes in Winter, you can hear them coming miles off.
