Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle

Is this a golden eagle? Knowing where I took the picture, it is flying at around 1000m above sea level. Its neck looks a bit longer than a buzzard? The whitish tail is confusing but maybe its a young bird or just a trick of the light. In any case I can't see it being a sea eagle as it is far from the usual places where you might see one.

I think golden is more likely but wouldn't rule out it being a white tailed eagle.

The tail could be white because it is a WTE but also it could be a young golden eagle showing white on the tail. The tail shape does look more like a golden eagle, but difficult to tell from the angle.

While WTEs are much less common than golden eagles their distribution is much wider and turn up almost anywhere.
