Does this indicate a poor winter for berries in Europe?

Yes, it seems a very poor spring in Scandinavia has resulted in a lack of berries there, and a lot of waxwing over here! I saw a bunch of them in Ullapool at the start of January, and friends near Aviemore have had them in their garden too.

I saw a bunch (60+) of waxwings in Glasgow yesterday, if anyone's interested in catching sight of them before they head back to Scandinavia. I saw them on the trees at Cowcaddens beside the motorway.
