Nice pics. Were you so close or do you have pro equipment? I had a few snaps on a sand bank in the wadden sea lately but from a daytrip boat and my camera was not good enough for some real nice close ups.

Edit: Just re-read your post - canoeing is the key word isn't it :wink:

Lovely, especially some of the facial expressions!

Yeah, in the canoe I got within about 20-30m of the hauled out seals, though some of them came closer. Fantastic to be interacting with them, they were so relaxed, some curious, some not bothered at all about us humans.

DSLR, but the lens is only an 18-135mm, nothing too telephoto-ey
