Boring beach bird

Boring beach bird

We see lots of these on various beaches and around Scotland, but I thought it was probably time I found out what they were. I've had a look online, but quite a few shoreline birds have very similar colours.

This one was part of a group of a dozen or so patrolling the rocks at Thorntonloch beach in East Lothian the other week.

Not a Knot. Knots have green legs and grey winter plumage.
