Lovely photos CharlesT. There does seem to have been an explosion in butterfly numbers this year. Great to see them thriving.

Thankyou, I believe there has been an influx of Painted Ladies from the Continent. Always have lots of small torties, meadow browns and gatekeepers, but I think numbers are well down from those that used to be seen. I try to have as many butterfly and bee friendly plants as I can and it certainly helps. Example below.
