Seen above the Aros Centre near Portree this summer. There were a pair of them. An eagle, hopefully?

Judging by the proportions, that looks like an eagle.

White tails have a shorter wedge-shaped tail.

Thanks all. Eagle was my instinct too, though I had no idea whether golden or sea eagle either.

Chances are always boosted when you're in the Hebrides!
